happy crafting.

So I saw this chain letter-esque trend that started on FB (facebook) and has now moved to the blogosphere (then again maybe the chicken came first).  Either way.  I'm in.

I promise to send something handmade to the first 3 people who leave a comment here. To be eligible, you must also post this in your blog, offering the same thing to 3 other people. The rules are that it must be handmade by you and it must be sent to your 3 people *sometime* in 2011.


Even if you posted on Facebook I don't see why that would cause you to be ineligible here- though I can't promise cooler stuff because it's my blog.  Then again....  




Maybe later I'll post pictures of crafty things I've made just to inspire you.

    I have decided this needs to be a circle, You comment on Mine I comment on Yours ect. I have also decided that it must be picked up in person.

One of my mental blocks as a writer is trying to figure out my audience. That was always a tricky question for me to answer when writing papers in college? Who am I writing this paper for, exactly? The House that Jack built.

Well I don't know for sure if his name was Jack.  His last name might have been Nielson.  A man, Somebody Nielson came by a few weeks ago and said this was the house his grandfather lived in (and I think built).  He confirmed that the floor in the living room is indeed the original flooring--I'll have to get a better picture because the craftsmanship is beautiful.  This grandson that stopped by (old enough to be 10 or 15 years my parents' senior) enjoyed seeing the house again.  Then just last week when we were finishing the screws on the deck and cutting open windows another old resident came by.  She was tickled to see that someone was fixing up the place.  Her mom bought it from my husband's grandpa (who bought it and flipped it some 20 years ago).  People from all over town have commented on it.  I'm sure glad to see that our hard work is appreciated by the community.  I'd love to get the stories these walls could tell. Magical Mystery Tour

So I've been holding off on showing pictures of our house until we're more settled in.  As in CLEANED UP. But that may be a while.  I know a few people who want to see it in all it's "glory".  We are in fact living here.  Which explains the mess.  (I know I should be cleaning instead of blogging but I have all day to do that and the boychild is napping...) Also after listening to "Gifts of Imperfection" (audio book ) I've decided to show you the REAL thing.  I did make my bed before taking pictures. But that's it.  Here she is, with no further ado (and still no name) OUR HOUSE:  When you first walk in you will see this: Our living room.
