We go together like..... ...Peanut Butter and Jelly. ...Fries and a Frosty. ...Bert and Ernie. ...Airplanes and tutus. Did that last one throw you off? Sorry.  Life of an almost 4 year old deems that airplanes and tutus do in fact belong together.  So much so that he freaks out if is airplane is missing its tutu.  It all began rather innocently. We're trying to teach the kids about money by giving them an allowance.  They pay a %10 tithe and then the rest they can spend how they choose (though Mommy tries to talk them out of buying goodies with them because Mommy already buys/makes too many goodies as it is). So what do they set their hearts on? Toys of course.  Because they don't have too many of those yet.... We were at our "local" (local being the next town over) secondhand store a few weeks ago and the boys were insistent that they NEEDED to spend their allowance.  So I let them.  They fought over who got the train.  Ian did b...

Lookie- this is the chandelier that was in the dining room. It now lives in the living room. There's even power going to it.   And light bulbs. (I should get an updated picture sometime soon.) Here's the kitchen and dining room. View of the kitchen.  It's a bit cramped now while we don't have proper cabinets- but that's ok. Sink will be on the left.  Laundry room and where the ladder is, the pantry.  There's a hole above the fridge that will eventually have plexiglass over it for natural light. I can't reach any cabinets over the fridge anyway so I'd prefer to have light.  There won't be much. I had inadequate words all typed up and ready to go.  Then I changed my mind. Here's what 2012 brought us:  Work.  And hopefully a place to live in 2013.  (Sorry they are out of order. I downloaded them from FB and this is the order it gave me- I'll save organizing them and cropping and before/after shots for another day) Exterior while the porch was torn apart. Monster bush on the left was eating the rafters. The pile of rotten wood on the right is the previous porch. Sadly the pillars had to go. Someday I'd like to bring them back but we couldn't afford to right now.  Finished bathroom floor tile. 1st row bathroom floor tile. Nasty carpet that was torn out- I think this was our room.  Bathroom sans subfloor- the bucket is covering the sewage pipe.  Master bedroom sans carpet. (Currently filled with building materials.)
