Here are a few of my recent projects around the house. Please excuse the giant hole in the kitchen wall. It's on the list. I'm not sure what order they will be in: this phone posts faster than our poor computer. Fruit basket. Heavy duty. Now in red. Pots and pans. Black upgrade from in laws (thanks again!). Like to hang around. Mantle pictures. Need to be hung on the wall. Wall-O-pictures. Added to. Still awaiting the ones on the mantle. Little projects. (not pictured are as follows) We now have a working dryer. We were waiting on a breaker. Breaker is in. No one got electrocuted. Win. One more sheet of drywall on the South wall. Master bedroom green accent wall. Trees trimmed. Fort built from said tree limbs. Two loads of wood cut and hauled. Two to go. Lots of work, but there has been some progress. Just no pictures till now.enjoy.

When I went out to check the mail I found this note on our door. It was a nice reminder that we are doing good things. I don't know who left the note because they didn't sign it but it sure brightened my day.Thanks neighbor.

We are so grateful grandpa thought of us when he saw the free chalkboard! We love it (and so does our neighbor friend) bonus: it covers a lot of the ugly wall.

Our house is still far from "finished".  We're in a holding pattern while we have a few fun summer adventures and then we'll get back to our regularly scheduled fixing up.  So I've been trying to be methodical about what I want in my home.  What things make me happy.  It's not what I have.  Though I'm working on it.  I have a billion pins on my pinterest boards all with somewhat conflicting tones.  Some say "I wish I were grown up and elegant" while the ones I really love are bright and flashy and bring a POP of color. I want to be more towards the POP side.  That's who I feel I really am.  Not the Pottery Barn or Anthropologie knockoff.  I more of IKEA meets 8 year old meets old stuff painted hot pink.  It probably hearkens back to a day in high school when I had this "brilliant" idea of spray painting this HUGE and HEAVY mirror frame florescent green.  I think my mom is still scarred from it.  While it didn't really tur...

Walking home from taking the middle child to preschool I felt the need to blog.  Wee #3 is napping and I get to Click, Clack, Moo for a minute.  I gave up soda for Lent . Wouldn't be a big deal if I weren't so addicted to it (which is kind of the point).  So I'm going through withdraws;  though  my caffeine withdraws are over so now it's just the pining for forbidden not-so-fruits.  Occasionally I get grumpy.  Don't let Sean tell you that it happens to be more than "occasionally".  He's lying.  I wore my "Drink Dr. Pepper" shirt the other day because then *I* couldn't see the sign :) I'm a rebel.  Giving up something for Lent is not common among my religion but I think it is a good practice to go without for a time to grow in appreciation.  For many things in life not just soda. So I've been holding off on showing pictures of our house until we're more settled in.  As in CLEANED UP. But that may be a while.  I know a few people who want to see it in all it's "glory".  We are in fact living here.  Which explains the mess.  (I know I should be cleaning instead of blogging but I have all day to do that and the boychild is napping...) Also after listening to "Gifts of Imperfection" (audio book ) I've decided to show you the REAL thing.  I did make my bed before taking pictures. But that's it.  Here she is, with no further ado (and still no name) OUR HOUSE:  When you first walk in you will see this: Our living room. We made it. We're home. Finally. It's not perfect and is still certainly a mess of boxes, but we moved into our house last week. Ah. Feels so good. I do feel a bit of pressure to get pictures up but I'm ignoring that for now and focusing on LIFE and LIVING and what does that all MEAN anyway? It's so nice to be in our own space and to circle the wagons and simply BE together. Part of my goal in my theme of HOME is coming to fruition.  The first bit was to be in our own home.  Now we are.  It's so nice to actually make it to our goal of moving in by the end of January. What are we lacking still? Well, a stove for starters (hopefully to be connected this Friday) and kitchen cabinets.  Though we did just get our beautiful china hutch out of storage so we have a place to put our dishes and plethora of sippy cups.  Classy.  But it works AND it is a beautiful peace of furniture.  I get such pleasure from it.  Isn't that silly?  We...

Lookie- this is the chandelier that was in the dining room. It now lives in the living room. There's even power going to it.   And light bulbs. (I should get an updated picture sometime soon.) Here's the kitchen and dining room. View of the kitchen.  It's a bit cramped now while we don't have proper cabinets- but that's ok. Sink will be on the left.  Laundry room and where the ladder is, the pantry.  There's a hole above the fridge that will eventually have plexiglass over it for natural light. I can't reach any cabinets over the fridge anyway so I'd prefer to have light.  There won't be much.
