In the year of our Lord,  Two thousand and fifteen:  In the cold winter months, we spent a lot of time indoors.  Sometimes we ventured out for a bit of sledding fun.   While indoors we did a lot of projects to keep entertained. This was a day we made rockets because biggest brother got to have a "science day" at school (2nd grade) and the other two were jealous. Landon was only 1/2 day at that point (kindergarten) and Charlie was home with me ALL. THE. TIME.  It was exhausting as a parent because this child is more hands-on than the other two have been and as such needed more constant supervision as a small child. I believe that was the winter we had to get x-rays done because we couldn't find the 3rd button battery to a toy and couldn't be sure Charlie hadn't swallowed it. So we played with a lot of cardboard boxes.  That winter was hard because we all took turns getting sick and the kids missed a lot more days of schoo...

Have you ever....?

...Been in 4 places at once? Yeah...me either.  For Balentimes day the hubster got a hotel room at this place we've always seen but never been to . My amazing sister in law and her hubby and my mother and father in law took care of the two big brothers while we were away and were awesome- I owe them big time.  Especially when we got the call that Landon was barfing all over the place but that they'd take care of it and we should enjoy our time together. Oy... talk about conflicted.  We were only 30 minutes away so it was really hard to just let them take care of him.  But grateful for the time with the hubby. We even took dorky pictures to verify our dork status: (I'm not so good at the take pictures of yourself thing- I blame it on short arms...) We even had a chauffeur for the getaway...  low. ri. der.  Self-portraits at sunset.    We spent the day in Farmington shopping and getting ideas for the house. ...

Take off your shoes and stay a while.

So grateful that the sunshine is back!   I firmly believe that all living things are solar powered- not just high-fa-lootin' cars.   We spent the morning making cards to send to loved ones (hope they make it in the mail sometime this century) and Charlie learned to love his new swing.  $2 at a yardsale and it's exactly what I've been looking for! It's a wind up kind so no worries about batteries.  Also only swings long enough to calm him down so it's not incessantly going all the time.  I kind of like it myself.  It looks like THIS   (mostly).  It works for us and I only put him in it if I'm around-- I do NOT trust his siblings. A little common sense goes a long way.  Saves my back too because usually if he's really upset I'm swing him in his carseat for a minute to calm him down- and it kills my back.   We had Charlie's blessing this weekend (similar to a Christening) and my Dad and Step-mom we able to make the long trek out here for ...

The one in which I learn my lesson...

About trying to sleep and allergies.  My allergies have been on full attack lately and it drives me batty.  Happens every year since I was a kid.  Some are worse than others. I've tried every medication under the sun for it.  Some work just fine- others knock me out- and others don't work at all.   I remember distinctly in 6th grade coming in from recess and getting a wet paper towel to put on my eyes.  It must have been after lunch recess because we always had reading time after lunch (and I think some of the kids slept).  This was also when we'd make glue balls--but I digress.  The teacher questioned why I was getting a wet paper towel and NOT reading.  So I told him it was for my eyes.  Allergies.  He understood.  Most people growing up in the Valley  could empathize.  For some it's the Walnuts, for others the cotton, and others the pollen from any number of blossoming things.  For me it's all of that.  A...

Currently...

Currently: The boys are asleep. *Sigh of relief* I've been up (kinda) since 5:30 this morning which my body didn't appreciate today.  Headache is waning though.   I am listening to Classical Baby  CD that either my mom or I found at a thrift store.  I throughly enjoy how it relaxes me.  Clair de Lune is probably my favorite.  It also happens to be the first one so I don't have to skip any other songs to get to it.  Tertius loves track #4.  He went nutso just a bit ago when it came on (On the Beautiful Blue Danube).   Tertius is what we jokingly call baby #3.  We cannot come up with a decent REAL name for him.  Tertius comes from the movie Stardust . I'll hit my 30 weeks mark tomorrow which means 10 or less to go.  Kind of freaking me out.  Washed the wee sized baby clothes yesterday.  Still so worried that he's going to come early and we'll be in Grand Junction for a week (or more).  So I'm trying to get stuf...

Blessings abound.

I'm baaaack! Well sort of.  I still need to be quick about posting but I need to update you on our lives. We moved. We made it safe and sound.  No incident or even funny stories to report from that.  Sorry. We're mostly unpacked at this point.  Except for a few boxes in our room: namely my "Sewing essentials" box---not sure where to put it or if I should in fact unpack it at all.  The weather has been crazy- but I'm loving the wide open spaces here.  We even hiked Posey's Trail the other day.  It was loverly. Today is Lando's Birthday! YAY! He's two now- but really I've been saying he and his brother and 2 and 4 respectively for a little while now.  Two years ago I was in Blanding on vacation and went into early labor.  I thought they'd send me home.  Turned out we spent 4 days in Grand Junction Colorado (after giving birth) where Lando was in the NICU.  LONGEST 4 DAYS OF MY LIFE.  Those Moms and grandmas and other lov...

Spring Break

Image
For Spring Break we made a little road trip to Blanding.   Here we found one of Ian's favorite things: Ian is saying "chugga woo woo!" I've been workin' on the railroad, all the live long day.  In the car again... It's important to switch drivers in order to stay alive, awake, alert, enthusiastic.  TAKE A HIKE!  So we did. To White Rock that is. What you can't see here is that big brother just made this drop and fell right into an unforeseen hole.  Landon ended up getting down a different way. It's important to keep the wild animals corralled:   At Granny H and Grampa's house the boys got a thrill out of the wheel barrow.  Ian watching a movie or maybe watching us play Wii.   (*Sorry I didn't get pictures of him playing wii.  It was awesome. ) Aunt Tiff caught this boy drinking the milk off his cereal.  Something he loves to do right away THEN eat the cereal.  Looks like we have an AWOL Cheerio....
