Keeping House

Keeping up one house with three children under five is a mighty task.  Keeping up TWO houses? MonuMENTAL! I'm in the process of packing up one house to go into storage for an interem move while trying to get the blue house ready to move in.  So this is my excuse for not blogging. The craft/playroom has its second coat of paint now and needs the trim painted and the shelves need to be hung.  The bathroom is in complete disarray with the ceiling gone now.  I'll have more pictures soon I hope.  I think they're on my Incredible....but they might be on Sean's work phone.  (On the to do list for later.) Meanwhile we spend mornings at the pool where Landon has decided he's not quite ready for swim lessons. Ian on the other hand is a little fishie and loves his lessons.  It can be hard to make it there on time and they start at 9:30.... we'll see how this fall goes with kindergarten in the morning....  We spent a bit of time at the pool after swim l...

Tuesday, Friday. What's the difference?

Well it's Tuesday. Not Friday. But I need to get back into writing so I'll grab a 5 minute Friday writing prompt from Gypsy Mama  and see where it takes me. Community: Group, Tribe, Village, Town, Family, Neighbors It takes all of us to make a great community.  A place where we WANT to live.  The hairdresser who sympathizes when a loved one is sick.  The volunteer firefighter who spends his day job working at a mill.  The grocery store clerk who also works at the hardware store just to make ends meet so he can stay in the community that he loves.  Community means sharing.  Burdens, Accomplishments, State Championships, Losses, Resources.  Connections.  No man is an island.  The guys at the auto parts store will even agree with that.  Together we're better.  At least I sure hope so. Writing that was harder than I thought.  Here's to next week.  Or maybe this week on ACTUAL Friday instead of Tuesday.

Image
"If it's not broken don't fix it? Is that what you said?"  "No.  Don't fix things that are broken," is what my clever oldest son said to me after the rush of adrenaline was over.   Just to keep it real I'll let you know that I'm thoroughly embarrassed for not thinking things through BEFORE I did it. And the fact that I might indeed need help in truly fixing it. I'm also soaking wet as I type this so I can't actually have the laptop ON my lap.   Plumbing. Not for the weak.  ...also not for those who don't think about where the water COMES from before removing things....oops.  So today I had the brilliant idea to give the boys haircuts.  After some phone Netflix bribing and promise of lots of bubbles in their bath the task was accomplished.  Outside so cleanup was minimal.  Just the kids.  I run their bath water with enough bubbles to make full Santa beards and hats and chest hair for both of them.  Us...
