The memories. Oh so poignant. Oh so great.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason this one is really connecting with me today. Just one of those VERY rare neil diamond days...
ReplyDeleteOh, Neil...
ReplyDeleteWhen my Chilean brother-in-law came home from his oath taking ceremony thingie (I'm sure there's a more accurate name for this) when he became a U.S. citizen, I threw him a surprise/congratulations party. I had this song playing when he walked through the door. All of the natural-born Americans thought it was hilarious. The Chilean-born American had never heard it before.
Just a heads up. Neil Diamond jokes are LOST on South Americans.
Thanks for posting this. I think you just made my night.
Oh Neil Diamond. It was time for a dose of Neil Diamond. Everytime I hear him I think of Dad. And DeBryn has never heard this song btw.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my all time favorite songs!!! yep, I LOVE it. I used to be in a singing group when I was a little girl and we got to sing this while riding a float in our town's 4th of July parade. It was AWESOME :)
