And the Lion has it...

There's a part in the Wizard of Oz where the Cowardly Lion says, "It's gonna get darker before it gets lighter," as they're going into the forest. That's about where I am right now.  It's going to get worse before it gets better.  (Or really where I was on Friday--it has already gotten worse.) It. What is it? Well last week I found that I had a lovely looking set of bumps on my back that I thought must be bug bites- what else? The only place I could figure I got them was in bed because when I went to bed they weren't there- when I woke up they were.  Hence my bedbug theory. With the help of Google- I was throughly grossed out by the little buggers and promptly washed all the bedding in the house and kept an eye on the boys for signs of more bug bites.  Tried lots of home remedies, lavender oil, baking soda, warm bath with baking soda, then a prescription cream for eczema (which my doctor had told me is also great for bug bites and bee stings). ...

A note

Dear Family who live ridiculously too far away,  Stop it.  The being so far away bit.  I know, I know.   I'm  the one who moved....but still.   Love you.  Miss you.  It's kind of driving me batty.   Sincerely,  Mags It's been a glorious weekend full of soon to be ours home- improvement projects and sunshine and togetherness.  I took a lot of pictures and will likely post them in the coming week.  And I'm still feeling as blue as our soon to be house because I miss my family.  My siblings. My parents. My grandparents both here and gone. Nieces and nephews and inlaws and outlaws. I'm at a loss for words so blogosphere you get this.  No apologies though.  Grateful to have the family around that I do and miss the ones I don't.   Emails would be wonderful.  Phone calls are great too (if the chaos isn't too much so I can actually hear my phone ring...)

We went hiking with the in-town in-laws for Easter up Butler Wash . It was awesome.  We like to wear out tiedye shirts when hiking- easy to spot.  Cousins sharing snacks First Ruin Happy Baby At Big Cave Ruin*- Peek A Boo (*my name for it- not official) Inside the cave looking out. Third Ruin- Hard to get into. Us Girls+Charlie stayed behind on that one .  So we could give the baby kisses.  Then we went back home for naps and met back at Grandpa and Grandma's for Egg Hunting.  Holding hands before we let them loose on the yard Look how many I got Mom! Charlie loved playing with the plastic eggs.  Checking out the loot: It was a glorious Easter weekend full of sunshine and happy memories (and Ian and Landon learned firsthand about the dangers of Cactus- they lived to tell the tales.) HAPPY SPRING WORLD!

Welcome, Welcome!

Here's the project that I hinted at earlier : TA DA! I rather like it.  And guess what? I did it all with THIS: What What?! A little Heat-n-Bond, a little fabric, fonts found online and traced with window light... and wah-BAM! Wall art. Found the idea on THIS blog- check it out.  PS- I posted earlier today too.  Click HERE to see it.

Easter is on its way.  Easter is a time of rebirth and growth and springing from the tomb and rejoicing. And hats.  (This hat is from Etsy- you can find it HERE  and join me in the celebration of all things Easter.) The perpetual little girl in me really just wants to grow up to be the Hat Lady at church.  I *LOVE* hats and gloves and miss the little dresses that came with both. This year I will not have either as I cannot find my box that has my gloves and I don't have a good Easter hat.  I also haven't sought for one that would be suitable to go with my Easter Dress (that I also don't have...) Why is it that the froofy dresses are only for people 3 feet tall and under? Hm. I feel a project brewing.  For next year- I'm not *THAT* industrious.  Today's epic task: to make Grandma Brown's Cinnamon Rolls...we'll see- I'm not so good with yeast- I kill it.  But I'm confident that if I go slow enough it'll hopefully ...

Operation Boy-ish Bike Cont'd

Guess who found her camera? No it wasn't Glinda the Good Witch (besides I'd bet Elphaba takes more interesting pictures...)  ME! And it wasn't on the bar- which was a good thing because I was beginning to think I had gone a little loco. It was on the bookshelf--because the last pictures I took were of the wall arrangement I made.  First thing first. Operation Boy-ish Bike is nearing completion.  The boy is completely satisfied and had Daddy not mentioned the unfinished seat would be thrilled at the finished product.  As it stands I'm working on an idea for a seat cover.   The bell is by far his favorite feature.  He has composed a 5 note song with it and insists on riding it to Grandma's so he can ring the bell and she will know it is him.  (PS Helmet...MIA- somewhere here I think- maybe still in storage...on the "to do/find" list.) Now the reason as to where my camera was: Holy Moly- I am not so good at t...
