Sean and I just celebrated our 3rd anniversary. WaHoo! It's crazy to look back and see what has transpired over the last 3+ years. Here is a brief look back:
2006 : March- went to California and got married. Had to buy a car because we wrecked our other one and no one would let us rent one. We still have our Jetta (Nena) and we love her though she is starting to show her age a bit. We got to go to Pismo while we were out in Cali for our wedding and that was cool.
May-I graduated from SUU and finished up an incomplete class in December. What a relief to be done. It's amazing to me that I survived it. Looking back I probably would have changed my major but I only had one semester left and couldn't afford two more years. All in all I'm grateful to have my degree. We also bought our 4Runner in May and took it to Blanding for our Open House. The open house was lovely despite the breeze. We had the BEST reception food ever: pickles, cheese and MEATBALLS. I was very careful and didn't get ANY on my dress.
August- I started working at Cedar Middle School as a Study Hall aide. That was an interesting adventure. I later worked in Skill Building for kids with behavioral issues. It wasn't the job for me but I'm grateful for the experience. It was crazy how it all happened too. I had applied to a gagillion places all summer and nobody was hiring. Then one day I saw this job posted- gave them my application and the next day had an interview and the next they offered me the job. I started the following Monday. Sean also went back to school in August.
December we found out that I was pregnant with Ian (we found out on New Year's Eve but couldn't tell anybody).
2007: March- On our one year anniversary we were Sealed for time and all eternity in the St.George temple. It was a dream of mine and it finally came true. That was cool. My father in law joked that I could still get out of the marriage before the sealing...I'm glad I didn't :) So I got to wear my wedding dress 3 times--more than most people who have only been married to the same person. Though being 3 months pregnant it fit a little differently.
May- We moved to our new apartment that friends of ours used to live in. It was really hard for me to move wards but in the end it's been good. Plus there was no way we could have a kid in our "cubby hole" apartment.
July-I spent Pioneer Day weekend going up and down Blue Mountain in Blanding for the Hurst family reunion. Sean had National Guard and so he could only come up one night. It was a lot of fun. On our way home we blew a tire just north of Monticello so we had to change our plans a little.
August-My water broke 3 weeks early and Ian was born (after 21 hours of labor). Talk about life changing. My mom came out to be with us for a week and what a help that was! When she left it felt really weird-- we were totally on our own with a newborn baby.
November-Ian was blessed. It was good to have a lot of the family together again.
December- Christmas in Cali. First trip to Cali with a baby. 11 hours instead of 8. Overall not as bad as I had expected.
2008: March: 2 years. Dani and Fielding got married a week before our anniversary so we were in Blanding to celebrate with them. Ian looked so cute in his little suit.
May- Mike and Ashley tied the knot in California and Ian got to wear his suit again (sorry all my pics are at home). We almost didn't make it in time for the ceremony because Ian fell and hit his nose on a trash can. We weren't sure if it was broken. He was fine after a little ice. But that was scary. The wedding was awesome!
October- Found out #2 will be joining our family in June. Ian experienced his first deer season. He didn't like some of the early morning hiking. We all just needed a nap at that point.
December- Christmas in Cali again and then Grandpa and Grandma Hurst joined us for New Years.
2009: February- Sean applied to Graduate school in Logan
March- well- that's now. 3 years sure has flown by. I can't wait to see what the next three hold.
